Srinagar, March 05 (KNO) : Paying tributes to slain militants of Tral and Handwara, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party Tuesday said that reconciliation not oppression can resolve the long pending dispute of Kashmir. The party as per a statement issued to KNO, also said that ongoing bloodshed can also be stopped only when good sense prevails on New Delhi. JKDFP spokesperson said that banning political and social activities in the disputed region has already turned Kashmir into a big jail. “Our political leaders like Shabir Shah have been placed behind bars to create a political vacuum. The government of India is not only trying to suppress the voices in Kashmir but also trying to change the demography of the region by using its authorities and institutions,” he said. He added people are feeling that New Delhi has decided to scrap the constitutional articles which are very important for the people of the state taking their special status into consideration. “The irony is that New Delhi is not trying to minimizing the apprehensions of the people of Jammu Kashmir which has increased them manifold,” he said. The spokesperson said that the people of Kashmir are on way of resistance to safeguard their special status so that it is secured till they decide about their political future by means of a free and fair plebiscite accepted and acknowledged by the world community. “The people of Kashmir are the most democratic as they believe in it and demand that their opinion should be heard and honoured,” he said.(KNO)
